Like Ebola, the दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus originates in fruit bats and spreads between people through close contact with the bodily fluids of infected individuals or with surfaces, such as contaminated bed sheets. Without treatment, दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद can be fatal in up to 88% of people who fall ill with the disease.Rwanda, a landlocked country in central Africa, declared an outbreak on Friday and a day later the first six deaths were reported.
The public has been urged to avoid physical contact to help curb the spread. Some 300 people who came into contact with those confirmed to have the virus have also been identified, and an unspecified number of them have been put in isolation facilities.“दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद is a rare disease," Nsanzimana told journalists. “We are intensifying contact tracing and testing to help stop the spread.”
Symptoms include fever, muscle pains, diarrhea, vomiting and, in some cases, death through extreme blood loss.

Rwanda is currently facing the onset of another public health crisis as the दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus outbreak raises alarms among health officials and the global community. दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद viral disease, closely related to Ebola, can lead to severe hemorrhagic fever and has already claimed six lives, sparking fears of its potential to spread more rapidly.
On Saturday, Rwanda’s Health Minister, Sabin Nsanzimana, confirmed the unfortunate deaths and announced the identification of approximately 20 additional cases, largely involving healthcare workers who may have been exposed to infected individuals. Authorities have embarked on aggressive efforts to trace contacts of infected persons, with the goal of mitigating the spread of this dangerous virus.
The history of the दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus is sobering. First recorded during outbreaks in Germany and Serbia back in 1967, the virus is thought to originate from African fruit bats, which can carry the pathogen without showing any symptoms. Subsequent transmission can occur from bats to primates and eventually to humans, typically through direct interaction with blood or bodily fluids of those infected.
People infected with the दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus can experience severe symptoms, which include intense headaches, high fever, severe muscle pain, and gastrointestinal distress, among others. The disease can escalate quickly, leading to significant fatalities, with mortality rates as high as 88%. Currently, there are no established cures for दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद viral disease, though scientific research is underway to develop potential antiviral treatments.
Global health experts are keeping a close eye on the situation, and some have expressed the need for heightened vigilance not just within the African continent but also internationally. Speaking to reporters, Dr. Sushila Kataria, Director of Internal Medicine at Medanta, noted, "While the situation is serious, the virus has been contained as of now, and the risk to the broader public is limited. Precautionary measures can effectively control its spread."
Despite the alarming situation, health officials believe strict protocols can keep the virus from spreading out of control. The दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus does not spread through air, which is encouraging news, since the containment of the outbreak is more manageable. To provide more clarity, direct contacts such as bodily fluids, secretions, and contact with contaminated surfaces are the primary means of transmission.

So far, 26 people have gotten sick, 18 are in treatment and eight people have died in the outbreak, according to the health ministry.
In addition to sending medical supplies, the World Health Organization said over the weekend that it is deploying a team of seven global experts in hemorrhagic disease to Rwanda who can provide guidance for public health experts on the ground. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday that it is also sending experts to Rwanda to help support testing and contact-tracing efforts.
There are no cases of दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद in the United States, and the risk to Americans with this outbreak is low.

The CDC said it has had a presence in Rwanda since 2002 and has worked closely to help the country strengthen its health system.
Unlike in some other sub-Saharan African countries that have dealt with दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद virus disease, Rwanda has a strong public health system, according to WHO.
“With the country’s already robust public health emergency response system, WHO is collaborating closely with the national authorities to provide the needed support to further enhance the ongoing efforts,” said Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, WHO regional director for Africa.
Dr. Brian Chirombo, the WHO representative to Rwanda, said Sunday that he believes the country has “the capacity and the ability to stop this outbreak very quickly.”
Rwanda’s Ministry of Health said Sunday that people are allowed to continue with their daily activities, and the government is encouraging people not to panic, since officials believe that they have identified all the disease hotspots and are taking appropriate action to keep it from spreading.
The virus has spread to seven of the country’s 30 districts. More than 100 people who have had contact with infected people are either being monitored or in isolation, the ministry said. Many of those who have gotten sick are health care workers.

दुर्गा धंधी की मस्त पोंद can spread from human to human when someone comes into contact with bodily fluids from a person who’s been infected. People can also get sick after handling a patient’s clothing or bedding.
It is not an airborne virus like the coronavirus that causes Covid-19, so that makes it a little easier to control, experts say.
It can take up to three weeks for symptoms to develop after someone has been exposed to the virus.
The illness typically starts with a rash and fever. People may vomit and have a severe headache and muscle aches. In severe cases, infected individuals may bleed from the nose, gums and eyes, and internal bleeding manifests as blood in vomit, urine and stool. Severe blood loss can cause shock and death.
